Follow Your Mane

The ladies of Curly Girl Collective (CGC) are tackling the male perspective of his female counterpart’s natural hair journey with an event entitled Mane Attraction: His Voice, Her Hair on October 14th.

Set against the raw space of Free Candy in the Brooklyn enclave of Clinton Hill, this poses as the third event for the neoteric group of natural hair enthusiasts. The mission of Curly Girl Collective “acts as a tangible resource of information for women within the natural hair movement, and strives to create innovative events that foster acceptance and celebration of natural hair.” Moderated by comedian Dorien Brown, Mane Attraction will offer a genuine panel discussion between the sexes and how a natural coif plays a role in every aspect of the wearer’s life. A curl confessional room, interactive mural, photo booth, vendor pop ups and giveaways add to the fun of the night from 4P-8P. Complimentary libations from Courvoisier, set by DJ C. DeVone and a diverse panel of Ebony Magazine’s Jamilah Lemeiux, Urban Bush Babes’ Cipriana Quann, Jozen Cummings of Until I Get Married, Single Black Male’s Slim Jackson and YouTube sensation Franchesca Ramsey offer amazing event accoutrements for Mane Attraction.
