We tip our proverbial hats to journalist and war correspondent Marie Colvin who died after on assignment in Homs, Syria. If you know very little or nothing of Ms. Colvin, we highly recommend looking into her work + bravery (and why she’s wearing an eye patch – shrapnel related injury). Female war correspondents have a particularly difficult time reporting from the front lines as they face abuse (sexual, physical, emotional) for simply being WOMEN. See Lara Logan’s sexual assault while reporting in Egypt last year.
RIP Ms. Colvin, we hope other women who you’ve helped pave the path for will live up to your precedence.
