Llotto After Work Spotlight: Szoke Schaeffer

Who are you?
Szoke Schaeffer — Actress/improviser and web series producer of a show called “Two Girls One Pint.”
Website:Twogirlsonepint.com

What do you do on daily basis?
On a typical day I am either working on developing my show or somehow working on furthering my acting career. For the show, there is so much that goes into it, such as finding breweries to shoot at, editing, putting together a crew, working on scripts, the list goes on! I also take improv classes at Upright Citizens Brigade and have formed an improv team that I perform with regularly.

How has social media affected the way you do business?
Social media has made my job easier. It is still very personal, even if I am not face to face with someone or talking on the phone. It gets information out to the public in a fast and convenient way, and also allows me to be more productive with my partners who are not all located here in NY.

How do you use social media today?
For my acting career I use a site called Actors Access to find auditions. I am working on creating a personal website which will have my headshots, resume, a bio and other fun facts. For the beer show we have a website called Twogirlsonepint.com which has links to our Twitter and Facebook accounts where we post photos from the shoots and updates on what we are currently working on, and when editing we share our files on Vimeo. For my improv team we use Facebook to get information out about shows, share photos and other team related facts.

What are you predictions on how social media is used in your industry?
The funny thing is that I rarely use any of the above mentioned social media tools in my personal life (not including for acting). I go on Facebook when I remember or Vimeo if a friend sends me a link to something, but for my business these tools are essential. I don’t think they are going anywhere. The great thing about each one of them is that they can be utilized in so many different ways. I use Facebook for sharing facts, Twitter for minute-to-minute updates and Vimeo to share the final product, but the person next to me could be using each of these for something completely different, and they can be just as useful.
